Dear all,

We are happy to announce that the 5th edition of the KU Leuven Summer School on the Law, Ethics and Policy of AI will take place in Leuven from 30 June to 9 July 2025.

The aim of the Summer School is to bring together a multidisciplinary group of participants and provide them with an overview of the various legal, ethical and policy-related issues around AI and algorithm-driven processes more broadly. The lectures will be provided by academics, policy-makers from European and international institutions, and practitioners.

The Summer School’s targeted audience consists of PhD researchers as well as more senior researchers and lecturers – whether they have a scientific, legal, philosophical, sociological or other background – interested in broadening their understanding of AI’s impact on society. It is also open to other participants, including civil servants, members of civil society organisations, practitioners and professionals.

Participants will receive a certificate of attendance with an equivalence of 3 ECTS credits. Moreover, those interested will have the opportunity to present their AI-related research during a research presentation session.

Applications for the programme will run from 10 February to 17 March 2025.

All information can be found on the Summer School’s website.

Since we are marking the programme’s 5th anniversary, we are also launching some jubileum activities this year, on which more information can be found on our jubileum webpage. Most of these activities are open for all to attend, and we hope to see many of you there.
