On 13–14 April 2026, the Faculty of Law at the University of Hamburg will host the authors’ colloquium “New Paradigms of Power, Oppression, and Legal Norm-Making in the Age of AI: Perspectives from the Global Marginalized Majority.

The event brings together critical scholars to examine how artificial intelligence is reshaping legal authority, norm-making, and global power structures. Particular attention is given to perspectives from the Global Marginalized Majority, challenging the dominance of Global North viewpoints in international legal discourse.

The colloquium will explore key issues such as digital sovereignty, AI governance, structural inequality, and emerging forms of digital colonialism.
